Made the mistake of borrowing cash from a payday loan company and now they have assessed all kinds of late fees and today I received a call from a law office threatening to sue for the lates fees and now more interest. The loan has been paid back this is all penalties and interest that I had no idea was in the fine print. What options do I have if any???

This firm is considered to be a third party debt collector and is required to comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Also, after making initial contact with you, the firm is required to sent to you in writing, within 5 days, its claim, tell you who the original creditor is and advise you of your rights. Good luck. That includes asking, in writing, for debt validation. There is a lot of information out there that should help you with your situation. You have the right to ask for a debt validation from the law firm. Go to ftc.gov and learn about your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act hour payday loan
